It’s been a busy couple of days introducing ‘The Snail’ to new audiences.  Saturday found us at a delightful afternoon tea at Wow Jewellery to help raise funds for the Hunter Wind Ensemble (https://www.facebook.com/hunterwindensemble).  Then it was into the car before first light on Sunday morning to drive to Merriwa.  Here we joined the Lake Macquarie Ramblers,

a chapter of the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (http://www.cmca.net.au/pages/index.php), for their muster.  It seems for some a home isn’t complete without the meerkats and solar night lights.meerkats

The weekend had been organised to help raise funds for Kaleidoscope Kids.  This is a volunteer organisation that supports the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.  These amazing volunteers enhance the service delivery and support patients, families and staff in the hospital setting.  The volunteers also raise funds to improve the quality of life for young patients throughout the Hunter New England area.  It was a lovely feeling to be able to donate a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the book to this dedicated and passionate group.

Monday afternoon saw us at Caves Beach Public School talking to the year 3 and 4 classes about character development in the book. It was lovely to share the journey with such a receptive and eager audience.  This morning there was a change of pace, as at my daughters request, I attempted to decorate an Easter Hat…..Which is in keeping with a new book to follow the postcards series.
