Monday Mail
What’s not to love about a Monday morning when your first task at the desk is to respond to letters from children at an early learning centre (ages 3-5 years). How wonderful were Karen and the staff at Warners Bay Early Learning and Care Centre who really embraced the concept of the book and saw the extended learning and experiences for the children. Karen arranged for the book to be introduced to the children before the reading. On the appointed day the children where patiently waiting on the mat to discover just what the Snail had been up to. After the story, a host of questions and of cause a more personal introduction to the Snail, the children eagerly returned to their crayons to begin drawing some amazing pictures.
It would appear after I left an excursion to the local post office was in order. For many of the children they had their first experience of placing a stamp on an envelope before consigning the envelope to the post box. Another first will occur this week for many children in the group when they receive their first postcard in response to their letters.
